PDA Parenting Reconceptualized: Beyond Low Demand.
What interventions can be made in traditional systems and in therapeutic practices that support engagement in family and the wider world?

The collaborative members as a whole share concern that there is an over reliance on sustained demand reduction in PDA support circles. I have written a blog on this topic with Collaborative Member, Megan Agee, LPC, so look for this soon!

There are clinical implications to Low Demand Parenting which require a nuanced and clear-eyed awareness that there are common “pain points” for families that can be anticipated. These pain points deserve community and professional support.

Parents often find my clinical practice saying that they are failing “low demand parenting”. They are not. They are, however, not offered many therapeutic approaches and conceptualizations that move “BEYOND” low demand.

Meanwhile, if you meet PDA families and they are telling you “Low Demand” has made our lives feel harder, or you yourself are watching them struggle, and are not sure how to support them, then this is an applied practice space meant for you.

Spots are limited to foster engagement.

Use the payment button and registration below to confirm and hold your spot. When you have registered, I will receive confirmation of this, and you will receive a zoom link. This is a live event with opportunity to practice the application of concepts and strategies.

Julie and I are excited to engage with all of you! Reach out with any questions @elisejacobsonlicsw.
