Dr. Joy is returning next week to continue a clinical discussion we began on Monday. She has an expertise in the comorbid conditions that can accompany Autism.

We were looking at how healing from burnout often stalls especially in the transition to adulthood.

Bring your thoughts, insights and practice experience to discuss what it is we see in our local communities and how we are called on to support families.

It was so helpful to me to learn more about the activities of the Mast Cell, it’s histamine dump when under stress and we can all imagine how frequently this occurs for an autistic child.

Most of my clients are exploring how to manage their energy and relationship to demands so as not to trigger this activation and to honor their physical and emotional needs. I am so glad I can affirm this. It is vital there are medical professionals among us who can tie all the medical pieces and treatment options together.

Bring your curiosity, your observations or simply listen. I would also like to bring a case composite to reflect a typical complex case, where my question is often “is this burnout and is this ALSO an unidentified medical condition”.

Also:

I’d love to collaborate with more doctors for medical diagnosis and building the case for insurance coverage. I also seek to support my clients to gather information and observations for when they speak to their doctor. What’s your experience with this? Come and share what you know. Ask Dr. Joy some helpful approaches she might suggest as well!
