Hello PDA Professionals,

Have you been hoping for a regular weekly case study and learning group to explore your work and what PDA growth and change looks like?

Are you interested in building conscious, deliberate relational skills to adapt your professional interactions to the needs of your PDA clients and build authentic client relationships?

Are you hoping to find new methods to foster growth and want to look beyond limited PDA frameworks when your client feels stuck?

I am hosting a new PDA Fall study and learning group for those merging the personal with the professional. Would you like to join me? Read on for more details.

Study and Learning Group:

Last year I held two such groups and enjoyed exchanging big ideas, sparking growth in PDA practice and helping to build new collaborations among us. I feel grateful for the collegial exchange of ideas where we all contribute.

I offer decades of practice experience and over a decade of peer supervision but enjoy process groups in particular because like many of us, maybe you too, I was drawn to this work to make meaning, actively, with others, in real time, rather than passively taking in information.

I am a master’s level practice teacher and routinely present on PDA practice and bring my own story of the personal merging with the professional. I’d love to know yours.

This group is for you if you are an LMFT, counselor, social worker or psychologist with over five to seven years of clinical experience. Allied professionals are welcome but please clarify your needs and learning goals when you register.

I will begin each group with a short teaching on using relational therapy techniques with PDA adults and families as well as common PDA relational patterns and dynamics.

I teach how we can use relational technique to foster understanding, meaning, and regulation in “the space between us” (inter relational space) which is where growth unfolds.

We will then leave an hour for case application and study.

Cases will have all identifiers removed either by only sharing themes or case composites.

You will be invited to explore your personal reactions to your work using our understanding of transference and countertransference. I encourage professional use of self to promote authentic reaction-while you remain client centered.

I will invite 1 or 2 professionals each week to loosely prepare a theme or case composite for group exploration and discussion. This can be where you feel stuck or where you feel your clients are stuck. We can all support your case study!

Details:

Group timing: this group will run on 6 Saturdays beginning on November 7th.

Time: 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM eastern standard time.

No group the week of Thanksgiving, but we’ll resume the next week and finish on Saturday December 19th.

Discussions are recorded and available to all who register. Teaching slides are shared.

This group will be limited in size to foster safety and community.

The topics may touch on sensitive themes, and we examine ourselves in relation to our work but bring raw or sensitive material to private discussions or peer supervision.

I’d be more than happy to meet individually with anyone who would like to look at a sensitive topic. Feel free to tell me in advance if you want this.

Interested in joining?

Cost will be 300 dollars for the study and learning series. Subscribers to the Collaborative receive a subscriber rate of 200 dollars.
